Charlotte and Jack have taken over as the most popular names for 2019 in Nova Scotia. The previous three years had seen Olivia and William as the most popular names for new arrivals. There were 7,433 registered births this year in Nova Scotia, down 497 from 2018.
Names gaining in popularity include Levi, Hudson and Nora. There are some favourites coming back into popularity such as Lucy and Samuel.
When the province started the birth registry in 1864, the most popular names were Mary and John.
