UPDATE: Could A Strip Club Be Coming To Sydney, Cape Breton? – This Is What We Know

The sign that had been on display at 100 Townsend Street in Downtown Sydney, NS. has been removed. The sign had said “Opening Soon, Ray’s Boom Boom Room.” It had two pole dancers on it and a nylon stocking in the window.

If you thought strip clubs were a thing of the past in Nova Scotia after Ralph’s Place in Dartmouth closed, you may be wrong. When a strip club closes, they can keep their license active and one day sell it.

Licenses that may still be in play include the former Ralph’s Place, Jigglers, The Sternwheel, and other adult entertainment establishments that have closed in the province.

Looks like the corner of Bentinck and Townsend is about to get a little spicy….

There is no listing in Nova Scotia’s Joint Stock Registry, the provincial database where businesses are listed, for Ray’s Boom Boom Room.

The address has also been home to Amedeo’s Italian Bistro, Sakura All You Can Eat Sushi and Chopstix Restaurant which recently closed.

The name Ray’s Boom Boom Room isn’t original, it comes from the 1999 movie, Life. The movie is about a man named Ray, played by Eddie Murphy and his fictional club in New York City he dreams up with other prisoners.
