In the middle of Halifax Harbour lies George’s Island, a national historic site that is full of history and mystery.
Today it was announced that the Halifax Harbour island would be opening for the season on weekends from June 11 until October 9, 2022.
Tours can be self-guided but if you want to get into the tunnels, you will need to take the guided tour. You will learn the rich history of the island and the role it played in the defense of Halifax.
Visitors accessing Georges Island will use Ambassatours Gray Line, the boat tour company that was awarded the contract, through a competitive process. You can reserve tickets now on their website.
