Forty two warning signs at Peggy’s Cove on Nova Scotia’s picturesque coast didn’t stop a teen from going swimming in the waters on Sunday afternoon.
Kelly Boggs posted the video which appears to show a young person swimming in the waters a short distance from the rocks. Boggs told CBC news she was zoomed in on the swimmer and too far away to yell to them or their family who can be seen standing on the black rocks, also a big no-no. It’s believed the teen made it out of the water safe as no one has been reported missing.
The Nova Scotia Lifeguard Service states that Peggy’s Cove has the highest rate of drowning incidents in the province. In 2016 a woman visiting from Quebec died after being swept into the ocean and in the year prior a woman from Ontario drowned after being swept into the ocean.
