Australian Paramedics Heading To Nova Scotia

Nova Scotia is set to welcome 30 new paramedics from Australia. They on-route following Nova Scotia’s first successful in-person healthcare recruitment mission to Australia earlier this year.

“Nova Scotia has a lot to offer – not just an exciting career, but a place to call home in communities from one end of the province to the other,” explained Michelle Thompson, Minister responsible for the Office of Healthcare Professionals Recruitment. “I’m thrilled to welcome these new team members to our province and to our growing healthcare system.”

The new paramedics are accredited and experienced advanced care paramedics, aligning well with Nova Scotia’s high standards in healthcare. The first group of 13 will begin their roles in July, with the rest expected to start in early 2025. They will be employed across communities in Nova Scotia, working for Emergency Medical Care Inc.

Recruitment efforts extend beyond paramedics, with ongoing initiatives to match continuing care assistants, pharmacists, and physicians from Australia with opportunities in Nova Scotia.
