The Cape Breton, Big Pond Concert Makes It’s Return To Outdoors In The Scenic Community That Plays Host

The Big Pond Concert has been a long tradition initiated and maintained for decades by the hard working volunteers of Big Pond. It has been a tradition of gathering to appreciate the music and dance of Cape Breton. This year, the Big Pond Concert makes it’s return to the scenic outdoors of Big Pond.

The lineup for the July 17, 2022 show includes the likes of Howie MacDonald, Mac Morin, Rachael Davis and Darren McMullin, Blanche Sophocleous and many more. The full lineup is available on BigPondConcert.com.

Big Pond Concerts of the past attracted the wider Cape Breton community as well as the local Big Pond community and that is what the committee is trying to harness this year by returning the show to the outdoors.

“It’s sometimes forgotten that that sense of community and pull to gather together to share stories and experiences is just as important a part of our culture as the music itself.” said Rita Morley MacDonald of the Big Pond Concert committee.

This year’s concert will be held outside for the first time in many years behind the Big Pond Firehall in the community’s ball field. Overflow parking will be made available at the site of the former firehall down the highway with a free shuttle to the concert site.

“As the concert committee, we would like people from this community and others to get to experience the Big Pond Concert again as an event where they can take in the good music and dance, the picturesque view, and actually participate in the gathering and visiting that really makes this event something special.” said Morley MacDonald.

Tickets for the show are only $20 and available online through BigPondConcert.com.
