UPDATE: Forest Fire Burning In Queens County, Nova Scotia

7:55pm Update: The fire is estimated to be just over 7 acres in size and under control. The helicopter has returned to base. Crews will remain until dark and return in the morning.

There’s a forest fire burning in Queens County, Nova Scotia near Molega Lake.

Fire departments from Queens and surrounding Lunenburg, Shelburne and Annapolis are Counties are responding or on standby for those responding. A helicopter from Lands & Forestry is on route to assist.

The fire is estimated to be 5-7 acres. Winds are blowing in an easterly around 23km/h, gusts can be higher. People are being asked to avoid the area.
