Prince Edward Island’s Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Heather Morrison said today in a briefing that the island province has three new cases of COVID-19. These are the first cases in over two months.
“I’m here today to report three new cases of COVID-19 in Prince Edward Island. This is disappointing news.” said Dr. Morrison.
Two cases include a male and female in their 20’s. The male had traveled to Nova Scotia and had contact with someone who had visited the United States, he is asymptomatic, but a woman he had contact with upon return is symptomatic.
The female works at Whisperwood Villa, a long term care home. All residents and staff will be tested today.
Nova Scotia currently has three active cases of COVID-19.
The third case is a male in his 50’s who is an essential worker who had traveled outside of the province.
None of the cases are connected to the opening of the Atlantic bubble.
