Parking On The Street? Here’s What You Should Know + Garbage Day Is Cancelled Tomorrow In HRM

If Thursday is your garbage or green bin day in the Halifax Regional Municipality, you don’t have to bring your garbage or bin to the curb tonight.

The Municipality is telling residents not to place their collectables at curbside as they will not be picked up tomorrow due to the pending storm.

Those who would have their garbage, recyclables or green bin collected Thursday will have their items picked up on Saturday, December 11.

“Regardless of the status of an overnight winter parking ban, or whether you have received a notification, vehicles can be towed any time during the day or night, any day of the year, if they are interfering with snow-clearing operations, as per Section 139 of the Nova Scotia Motor Vehicle Act.” said the Municipality in a release.

The Halifax Regional Municipality’s overnight winter parking ban is in effect from December 15 to March 31. The ban is enforced from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. during declared weather events and snow removal operations only.
