Environment Canada Says Visibility Will Be “Near Zero” In Areas Of Nova Scotia Tonight

Environment Canada has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Guysborough County and Cape Breton. Those who are not under this warning are still under a Snowfall Warning.

Winter Storm Warnings are issued when conditions are going to become especially hazardous.

People in Guysborough County and on Cape Breton Island are being asked to consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow.

Total snowfall in Guysborough County and on Cape Breton could approach as much as 40 cm according to Environment Canada.

The rest of Nova Scotia remains under a Snowfall Warning and can expect 15-30 cm of snow. Blowing snow is still a possibility.
