Burn Ban In Effect For Some Areas Of Nova Scotia (Wednesday June 17)

There is a burn ban in effect for a number of Nova Scotia counties. If you live in Antigonish, Colchester, Cumberland, Hants, Inverness or Pictou counties, you are not permitted to burn at all today.

All other counties are permitted to burn after 7:00pm tonight until 8:00am tomorrow morning.

Always check before you burn and be aware of any municipal bylaws that regard burning. There is no longer a provincial ban on open fires as long as you follow the burning restrictions for that day.
