This New Free Streaming Service Is Coming To Canada And It Includes 100 Channels + 20,000 Hours Of Content

A new streaming service is coming to Canada and it could be the reason you cut the cable cord. The service’s name is Pluto TV.

The service will launch in fall of 2022. Pluto TV Canada will include more than 100 curated channels plus more than 20,000 hours of content, all for free on the device of your choosing. How do they deliver the television for free? Much like the television you already pay for, there are advertisements that run during programming.

Pluto TV isn’t new to the business, they have 68 million monthly active users, who have streamed over 4.8 billion viewing hours of content across 30+ countries spanning three continents.

The streaming service is partnering with Canada’s Chorus Entertainment which owns Global Television to bring a share of Canadian content.

To get an idea of what the 100 channels may include, in the United States they include Showtime, TV Land, and AMC as well as classic favorites like Degrassi, Star Trek, and The Price is Right. Just recently announced are 24/7 Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! channels.

“Following Pluto TV’s  recent launch in the Nordics and the partnership we implemented with Viaplay, which served as the strategic framework for this deal, the upcoming launch in Canada will combine Corus’ incredible local content offering with Pluto TV’s global content and world class platform, positioning Pluto TV to become the leading free ad-supported streaming TV service in the country upon launch in the fall,” said Olivier Jollet, Executive Vice President and International General Manager, Pluto TV.

You will be able to view Pluto TV for free with no registration required on the Pluto TV app. It will be available on Amazon Fire TV, Roku, Apple TV, Android TV, Chromecast, Samsung and LG Devices and mobile apps on Apple’s App Store and Google Play.
