Tareq Hadhad, CEO of Antigonish, NS company Peace By Chocolate made a heartwarming post to social media earlier this week announcing his engagement to partner Mila Zidan.

“We were born 5 minutes away in Damascus but we had to go through a roller-coaster of a journey over the past 10 years to meet 10,000 km far away from our birthplace here in Canada.” said Hadhad on Facebook. “Everything happens for a reason, and you are my reason.”
“Seems like I can’t put my hand up during ‘Single Ladies’ anymore!” said Zidan who currently resides in Edmonton, AB. “Some feelings are not meant to be described. I can’t describe this. We’ve decided on forever and out of the blue, I fell for you”

On Canada Day there will be a special citizenship ceremony in the courtyard at Queen’s Marque on the Halifax Waterfront and Tareq Hadhad will be speaking at the event welcoming and congratulating the group of new Canadians.
