UPDATED: Nova Scotians Not Part Of New Brunswick’s Initial Bubble With Atlantic Canada

According to Dennis King, Premier of Prince Edward Island, the Atlantic Premiers had a call last night where he outlined where PEI was going with reopening. King expects that the Atlantic provinces will be aligned by the end of June with the movements of Atlantic Canadians via The Atlantic Bubble.

Since the PEI Premier’s remarks today, New Brunswick has put out it’s reopening strategy and it doesn’t include Nova Scotians until at least July 1. It is also dependent on 75% of New Brunswick residents having one dose of the vaccine and 20% over 60 having two doses.

Residents of PEI and Newfoundland will be permitted to visit New Brunswick beginning June 7 if 75% of New Brunswickers have one shot.

Beginning June 27, PEI will allow those from Atlantic Canada with at least one dose of vaccine to travel to the Island without isolating upon arrival. The province will maintain rapid testing at its border even with the existence of an Atlantic Bubble as it moves towards its vaccination goals.

On August 8, PEI will allow travel from outside of Atlantic Canada with no isolation for those who have received both doses of their vaccine.

If all goes to plan, as of September 12, PEI aims to have limited public health measures in regards to COVID-19.
