There’s an area of the province you may not know about and it’s home to the other crossing into New Brunswick.
Tidnish is a little piece of heaven in Nova Scotia you may have not visited. It’s a community on the scenic Northumberland shore and its border crossing at Tidnish Bridge and New Brunswick is now manned by Nova Scotia and New Brunswick officials. When crossing they welcome you and provide info on the COVID-19 regulations in the neighbouring province.
When the Atlantic travel bubble opened, there was a rush of Maritimers wanting to travel and the border was clogged. Yesterday, July 6, the Nova Scotia Government announced that border restrictions would be enforced. They will be stepping up the collection of personal contact information from those outside the Atlantic travel bubble, which may further clog the border.
On your trip to New Brunswick, consider the alternate crossing at Tidnish. Stop and take the in the local sights, there’s lots to see and do.
Be sure to visit the Tidnish suspension bridge and make your obligatory crossing. You can also paddle the Tidnish River below.
