Liberal Plan To “Keep Province Safe” Could Include ScotiaPass, An Immunization Certificate

Nova Scotia’s Premier and Liberal Leader, Iain Rankin announced this morning that he and his government could implement an immunization certificate for fully vaccinated Nova Scotians dubbed the ScotiaPass.

The ScotiaPass would allow Nova Scotians admittance into events, concerts, festivals and restaurants at full capacity while hoping to prevent a fourth wave in Nova Scotia.

“I am becoming more concerned with the increase in COVID cases across the country,
and the world,” said Premier Rankin.

“The ScotiaPass would allow people to attend events without fear while not putting people’s health at risk from the Delta variant or other potential variants. Nova Scotians who are doubly vaccinated will go to concerts, hockey games and other activities without having to worry the person they’re sitting next to is not vaccinated.”

Other jurisdictions are also considering a certificate, and mandatory vaccinations. Nova Scotia’s Liberals say a standard, recognized certificate would relieve the pressure on businesses from having to invent their own systems to screen their patrons or invest in an app or software program.
