Two Brush Fires Burning Within HRM + Burning Restrictions In Place

Brush fires are burning as of Wednesday, March 22 at 3:00PM in two areas of the Halifax Regional Municipality.

Halifax Regional Fire and Emergency and Department of Natural Resources crews have been dispatched to Elderbank and Hubley.

Bay Rd Hubley: fire is continuing to spread here, command requesting 56E stretch a second forestry line to protect an exposed residence. 58T to the scene on the orders of Division 1.

The Department of Natural Resources has announced there are burning restrictions in place within Nova Scotia.

March 22: Burning is permitted after 7:00 p.m. in Colchester, Digby, Guysborough, Halifax, Hants, Shelburne, and Yarmouth.

Burning is permitted after 2:00 p.m. in other parts of the province.

Burning is only permitted after 7:00 PM in Colchester, Digby, Guysborough, Halifax, Hants, Shelburne and Yarmouth counties. All other parts of the province can burn after 2:00 PM if municipal bylaws permit.
