Sixth Suspicious Fire In Cumberland County Under Investigation (VIDEO)

Cumberland County District RCMP are investigating the sixth suspicious fire in the Collingwood/River Phillip area since August 5.

RCMP and the Collingwood Volunteer Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire at an old church on Wyvern Road in River Philip at approximately 2:20 AM on September 9.

The structure was not occupied at the time of the fire. After extinguishing the fire, the building was a complete loss.

RCMP have secured the scene as the fire is deemed suspicious. The Nova Scotia Fire Marshal’s Office will investigate.

Investigators continue to gather evidence and information on the suspicious fires.

RCMP have released video footage related to this most recent fire in River Philip, in the hopes that it will generate new leads in the fire investigations.
