Nova Scotia Buzz
On October 22, 2014 a nor’easter blew ashore in Nova Scotia and pounded the region for days. It brought plenty of rain and some saw wet heavy snow.
The storm lasted four days through October 25 and brought hurricane force winds and over 100mm+ of rain to areas of the province.
Flooding occurred in low lying areas according to Environment Canada with recorded windspeeds of 189km/h on Cape Sable Island. Some of the highest amounts of rain were in Yarmouth. The Town received 109mm of rain and Baccaro Point received 137mm.
Nor’easters are extratropical cyclones, but will always have winds coming from the northeast.
