Nova Scotia’s Mattea Roach Was Just On Jeopardy! Again And It Didn’t Go So Well

Mattea Roach, James Holzhauer and Sam Buttrey faced off in Game 2 of Jeopardy Masters playing for points and eventually a place in the Jeopardy Masters semi-finals. It could have gone better for Halifax’s Mattea Roach.

They trailed in third place after the Jeopardy round and in the Double Jeopardy round James went all-in on two Daily Doubles giving him 32,000 points.

Heading into Final Jeopardy with the category USA, James had 40,800 points, Sam had 10,600 points and the Canadian, Mattea Roach, was in third at 9,200 points.

The Final Jeopardy answer was “Opened in 1909 and less famous than an older neighbour, it connects Brooklyn and Chinatown.”

The correct answer was The Manhattan Bridge. Mattea answered incorrectly and finished the game in third place and earned no tournament points. James and Sam move on with three and one tournament points respectively.

Mattea’s next likely appearance is tomorrow night, Tuesday, May 9.
