Homes Evacuated As Forest Fire Burns Near Weymouth, N.S. – 100 Firefighters On Scene

Around 100 firefighters are on scene fighting a forest fire near the community of Weymouth, N.S.

CBC News reports RCMP have evacuated six homes in Hassett, located about 11 km south of Weymouth.

A comfort centre has been set up for the evacuees at Havelock Wesleyan Church.

RCMP tweeted this afternoon alerting motorists that Highway 340 is closed and asked the area be avoided.
