Many Nova Scotians are waking up to a dark morning as Nova Scotia Power works to restore transmission in many areas.
As of 6:00AM Nova Scotia Power was reporting more than 55,000 customers without power. The majority of the outages were in the Halifax area where almost 30,000 were in the dark.
Power is slowly being restored and as of 7:00AM the utility is reporting just below 35,000 without power.
Nova Scotia Power had originally listed most of the outages due to freezing rain, but has since changed their outage website to state “transmission interruption”.
