
Some take what it says with a grain of salt, some take at its word. The Canadian Farmers’ Almanac has released its winter forecast for Nova Scotia and it looks balmy.
They say that Nova Scotia is in for an unseasonably mild winter, but look out it’s not going to be complete smooth sailing.
They have red-flagged the second week of January for possible blizzard conditions in the Maritimes.
The formula behind the Farmers’ Almanacs forecast is a closely guarded secret. They do reveal that it’s a mathematical and astrological formula. It takes into account sunspot activity, tidal action of the Moon, the position of the planets and a variety of other factors.
We’ll be waiting to see how that second week of January turns out in the province. The Canadian Farmers’ Almanac claims to have accuracy from 80 – 85%.
