New Brunswick Has First Presumptive Case Of Coronavirus

New Brunswick is reporting that it has their first presumptive case of COVID-19. This is the first case in Atlantic Canada.

New Brunswick’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Jennifer Russell made the announcement at a Fredericton news conference.

A woman, 50-60 years of age living in southeastern New Brunswick is the presumptive case. She had returned from France and is now in isolation. The resident phoned ahead, was taken in for assessment and isolated from other patients.

Those who have been in contact with her are in the process of being contacted by health officials.

Premier Blaine Higgs said, “Our government is committed and prepared to do whatever it takes to support the public health and emergency measure organization teams during this outbreak.”
