Hurricane Fiona Forecast Track Moves Closer To Nova Scotia – Storm Continues To Grow

Hurricane Fiona brought heavy winds and torrential rain to Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. It has grown into a Category 3 hurricane and is now categorized as major hurricane. It is forecast to grow into a Category 4.

The major hurricane is now moving northward with Bermuda and Atlantic Canada in its sight.

The storms track continues to move further west and closer to Nova Scotia. There is uncertainty in the track of the storm. Nova Scotians should not panic but be on alert. A better picture of impacts will emerge in the next 24-48 hours.

Monitor the forecast closely. During hurricane season it is always best to be prepared early to avoid a rush for supplies as a hurricane approaches.
