Cape Breton Man To Appear on Ellen’s Game of Games

Cody Kennedy of Louisbourg, Cape Breton has a secret he can finally let out.  He will be appearing this season on Ellen’s Game of Games! Six months ago he received the call that he had been waiting for. His online audition had been successful and the producers of the show wanted him on.

A week later he was boarding a plane with his cheerleader, Marie Burke and coming down an escalator at LAX airport to a limo driver holding his name on an iPad.

Cody can’t reveal how he did on the show until it airs, but if he makes it to the final round of the show, he has the chance to win up to $100,000.

In a Facebook post Cody says, “Bright and early the next morning, I boarded one of many vans full of strangers. We were enroute to Warner Brothers Studios. When one of the producers was leading us into the studio, he turned to look at me and said, CODY! You finally made it here!”

Contestants were informed that not everyone would get to play but they should be very proud that they beat out thousands of individuals and made it to Los Angeles.  “Leaving the hotel that morning, I knew I was going to be picked. There was no doubt in my mind,” Cody added.

Cody’s story continues, “The crowd was dwindling. Around three my name was called. The time had come. I was actually going to be face to face with Ellen DeGeneres. We left the Ellen studio and went into a trailer where we got our microphone packs on. Minutes later we were escorted into the Game of Games studio where I was seated next to my cheerleader Marie Burke and was waiting for tWitch to announce my name. Before I knew it, I was flying down the stairs and hugging Ellen DeGeneres.”

”Chase your dreams no matter how out there they may be. Don’t let people make you think you’re crazy for chasing your dream. I was just a small town Nova Scotian guy with a dream that took him to Hollywood.”

Ellen’s Game of Games airs on NBC and CTV on Tuesdays at 9pm AST.
