Nova Scotia’s Mattea Roach has finished second in the newly conceived Jeopardy! Masters tournament, taking home $250,000. They finished behind champion James Holzhauer who takes home $500,000.
Tonight’s final saw Mattea taking on James and Matt Amodio in two games. Points from the games would be combined to crown a champion. Going into Final Jeopardy! of Game 2 it was a battle to be fought between Mattea and James.
The final question of the night proved to be a challenge for all three competitors, with none able to respond to the clue from the category “Latin In Literature.” However, the points accumulated by Mattea during the previous rounds secured their place as the second-place winner.
The competition concluded with James Holzhauer winning the $500,000 prize, while Mattea Roach, claimed the impressive second-place prize of $250,000. Mattea’s performance was a testament to their knowledge, composure, and the strength of her family and roots.
All three contestants will return for next year’s Jeopardy! Masters tournament.
