Kiefer Sutherland and some local Nova Scotia entrepreneurs are behind one of Canada’s newest whiskey’s and it was born right here in our province.
Red Bank Whiskey is the creation of Sutherland, a Canadian actor, musician and whiskey enthusiast, his tour manager, long time friend Gary Briggs and Nova Scotia entrepreneurs Shawn Hiscott and Rob Steele.
“Red Bank isn’t just a whisky,” says Sutherland. “It is a testament to the passion and artistry of Canadian craftsmanship, and a reflection of the warm East Coast hospitality that you can always bank on.”
The company says their brand is set to share the rocky shores of Nova Scotia from coast to coast in the coming months and is currently available at select NSLC locations.
There is a rumor that Sutherland, who is known for his roll as Jack Bauer in the hit series 24 may be visiting the Bayer’s Lake NSLC Signature store in the beginning of June.
“Not many liquor brands can actually excite an NSLC employee.” reported Bill Spurr for the Chronicle Herald. “But when you tell them Kiefer Sutherland is coming to their store to promote that brand? Well, that’s a different matter.”
Nova Scotia Buzz spoke with the Bayer’s Lake NSLC Signature location and to their knowledge, an event with Sutherland is not scheduled. We also reached out to Red Bank Whiskey who did not comment on the matter. Stay tuned to our Facebook Page, facebook.com/novascotiabuzz for updates.
