According to customer’s most recent bill from Bell Aliant, the company will be raising the price of their bundles. If you are an internet, TV and home phone customer, you will see an increase of $10 per month. Bell Aliant claims that this increase is needed because, “At Bell, we annually invest billions of dollars to provide exceptional new features, even faster internet technology, world class entertainment, and the network capacity necessary to support the significant growth in use of communication services”
It should be noted that the world class entertainment included the television channel AMC, which features award winning programming such as The Walking Dead. Bell Aliant will soon no longer be offering that channel to its Fibe TV customers as of February 1st, 2020.
@Chloe7311 on Twitter says she has been a customer of Bell Aliant and their predecessors for 60 years:
@Bell_Aliant i am absolutely shocked that Bell is raising our bills $10 a monthly the end of January and now they are removing AMC. I have been a bell aliant customer for 60 years and with the rising cost and cutting channels, I think it time for me to cut my ties with bell

Time for the annual @Bell_Aliant BS price increase. I wish the @CRTCeng would sort these guys out. $10 month for ZERO service improvements.

@Kellie899 wants to know why AMC is being removed from Bell Aliant.
Why is AMC being removed from Bell Aliant in Canada?

Eastlink replied to a customers tweet about Bell Aliant removing AMC with:
We have no plans at this time of removing AMC from our lineup. Should we decide to make any changes in the future, we will make sure it is announced well ahead of time!

For customers that are thinking of cutting the cord, it should be noted that there is more competition today than ever before in the internet and TV market. New companies are emerging that are using the infrastructure of Bell Aliant and Eastlink to distribute internet, phone and television for less than the big companies.
Many people are turning to internet only as there are many streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney+.
Bell Aliant and Eastlink will also review your account if your promotional pricing has ended. It’s always worth a call before signing with a new service.
