Afternoon Shooting In Dartmouth – Young Boy Is Dead

Halifax Regional Police responded to a call in Dartmouth related to a shooting that occurred in the 0-1000 block of Windmill Road this afternoon.

A young boy was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries where he died.

Police say the investigation is in its early stages and are asking anyone with information about the incident or video of the area to call (902) 490-5020. Anonymous tips can be sent to Crime Stoppers by calling 1 (800) 222-TIPS or by submitting a secure web tip here.

Halifax Regional Police say they are making every effort to further the investigation and their thoughts are with the boy’s family for their tragic loss.

“This is senseless and heartbreaking. The sympathies of our community go out to all who loved him.” tweeted Mike Savage, Mayor of the Halifax Regional Municipality.
