Shubenacadie Sam: Six More Weeks Of Winter

Our favourite groundhog has made their prediction for 2022. Shubenacadie Sam says that we’re in for six more weeks of winter! Sam is the first groundhog in North America to make a prediction every year. Her fellow groundhogs in North America will make theirs in about an hour later.

Tradition says that if the groundhog sees their shadow after coming out of their hole on Groundhog Day there will be six more weeks of winter. If they don’t see their shadow, we are in for an early spring.
