Environment Canada is urging some Nova Scotians to prepare for what is forecast to be a significant heavy, wet snowfall accompanied by strong winds.
Amounts are looking like 20cm or more for some areas and these counties are under a Winter Storm Watch. Matched with 80 km/h or more wind gusts, it’s looking like it could be a messy storm creating poor visiblity.
Locations under the Winter Storm Watch are in eastern Nova Scotia. Counties include: Antigonish County, Guysborough County, Inverness County, Pictou County, Richmond County, Cape Breton County including Sydney and Victoria County.

The snow is forecast for Monday night running into Tuesday and it may change to rain in Cape Breton.
Similar storms in the past have lead to power outages due to winds and heavy wet snow.
Conditions will improve overnight Tuesday. Make sure to have your emergency kit ready.
