Halifax Stanfield International Airport has a new banner to hang in their atrium. It’s been named the 10th best regional airport in North America according to Skytrax World Airport Awards.
Not only did it achieve that title, but they rank second best in Canada as there is only one other Canadian airport in the top 10. Calgary’s airport was just in front of Halifax in seventh position.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Halifax Stanfield saw the number passengers passing through its gates fall to levels not seen since the 1970’s.
“The past 18 months has been the most challenging and financially difficult period ever experienced by the world air transport industry, and airports have invested to provide the safest possible environment for their customers and staff during the global pandemic.” said Skytrax in a release.
Skytrax says the 2021 World Airport Awards recognize the efforts of global airports in adapting and meeting the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
