Eagles And Mooseheads Seasons Start October 1 – Possibly With Fans In The Stands

The Halifax Mooseheads and Cape Breton Eagles seasons will begin October 1, 2020 and there could be fans cheering them on in Centre 200 and Scotiabank Centre.

The QMJHL’s Return to Play proposal has been approved. The Eagles and Mooseheads are in discussion with Nova Scotia Health officials about having a reduced number of fans attend games in a safe manner.

Regular capacity for hockey games at Centre 200 is 5,000 and Scotiabank Centre is 10,595.

Ticket information, capacities and regulations will be released when the plans are approved. Priority for tickets is likely to be given to season ticket holders which could cause inflated prices for resale tickets.

QMJHL teams in New Brunswick released their plan for fans returning to the stands and it includes fans remaining in their seats, unless they are using the washroom or making a purchase at concessions. Food and drink must be consumed while seated.

There will be spacing between fans including every second row not being occupied and no aisle seats available.

Teams located in the Maritimes will only play each other this season and there will be no fans in the stands in Quebec.

The Halifax Mooseheads will provide digital opportunities that will allow fans to engage in preseason games free of charge.
