
BREAKING: Kevin Clarke-McNeil has been captured. He was arrested in Halifax County, east of Sheet Harbour.

An emergency alert went out to Nova Scotians at approximately 11:57pm last night announcing that prisoner, Kevin Edward Clarke-McNeil had escaped the Northeast Correctional Facility near New Glasgow.
Nova Scotia RCMP were asking people to avoid the Coalburn and Priestville areas. Clarke-McNeil was believed to be on foot and may have been trying to travel to Halifax.
In a tweet this morning, RCMP stated they have followed up on numerous tips throughout the night.
This morning RCMP had been asking residents to stay vigilant and report any sightings to 911. All police forces in Nova Scotia havd been notified and remained present in their communities to support public safety.
Clarke-McNeil is originally from Ontario and was on remand at the jail on several charges. They include attempted murder, unlawful confinement, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and resisting/obstructing a peace officer.
