The NHL season is officially suspended after the NHL Board of Governors agreed to postpone the season on a conference call.
As per someone on the Board of Governors call with the NHL, the season has officially been paused.

There were other indicators that the NHL season would be suspended due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
NHL insider Pierre LeBrun had posted on Twitter that NHL on-ice officials had been told to book flights home.

This all comes after morning team skates were cancelled.
Over the last day and hours the NBA and MLS have postponed their seasons.
