There is a slow moving convoy being planned via social media for Halifax this afternoon. The event says it will begin in the city’s south end and conclude in the Bayer’s Lake area.
Halifax Regional Police are warning motorists to be prepared for an event involving a significant amount of vehicles.
In a release, police reminded organizers, attendees and members of the public to follow COVID-19 emergency as well as Motor Vehicle Act requirements.
A new directive under the Emergency Measures Act was announced on Friday, February 4 prohibiting protesters from blockading or disrupting traffic on any road, street or highway in Nova Scotia.

Fines have increased under the new directives. Individuals could be fined up to $10,000 and corporations $100,000 for failing to comply with the directive.
Outdoor gatherings of more than 10 people are currently prohibited under the Health Protection Act order and blocking a road or highway is an offence under the criminal code of Canada.
