Sub-Lt. Abbigail Cowbrough To Journey Nova Scotia’s Highway Of Heroes One Last Time

Update: Sub-Lieutenant Abbigail Cowbrough’s procession from Halifax Stanfield to her resting place is running about 45 minutes behind the posted schedule.

Sub-Lieutenant Abbigail Cowbrough’s funeral procession will take her down Nova Scotia’s Highway of Heroes (Highway 111) Monday evening on one last journey.

The funeral procession begins at Halifax Stanfield at 6pm and is being led by military police and the brigade of motorcycles from the Veterans UN NATO Group.

The procession:

From the Park & Fly parking lot to Highway 102;
Highway 102 to Bayers Road;
Bayers Road to Windsor Street; 
Right onto Windsor Street to North Street;
Left onto North Street to Barrington Street;
Right onto Barrington Street to Cornwallis Street;
Left onto Cornwallis Street to Valour Way, HMC Dockyard;
Left onto Valour Way to Barrington Street; 
Right onto Barrington Street to the MacKay Bridge;
Continue on Highway 111 to Main Street / Highway 7;
Continue on Main Street to the Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth.

Cowbrough passed away in the crash of a Canadian Cyclone helicopter in the Ionian sea off Greece. She was one of six Canadians, three of whom were Nova Scotian, that perished in the crash.

The helicopter was based on HMCS Fredericton which is taking part in NATO’s Operation Reassurance in the Mediterranean.
