As with any case where someone goes missing, this has always been treated as a missing person investigation. At this point however, the active ground search has been exhausted.

Today, May 12, 2020, search commanders from Colchester Ground Search and Rescue, and incident commanders and investigators from the Truro Police Service met with the parents and family members of Dylan.
The family was provided with an overview of the exhaustive search efforts to find Dylan.
In consultation with Ground Search and Rescue, it has been determined that the search area on land and in the water, that has been so visible since Dylan went missing, has been exhausted.
Truro Police Service are now focusing their efforts on the ongoing missing person investigation which began when Dylan was first reported missing on May 6, 2020.
If anyone has information that will lead to the recovery of Dylan, please call Truro Police 902-895-5351.
