Halifax Regional Police say they have charged a woman after an incident where she was allegedly impersonating a Child Welfare Services employee in Halifax last week.

Police say on February 10, they received a call from a woman stating that she was an employee with Child Welfare Services and required assistance to remove a youth from a residence. Officers met the woman at the address provided where they say she continued to state she was there as part of her employment to remove a youth from the home.

Officers were able to confirm that the woman did not work for Child Welfare Services and was known to the youth. She was arrested at the location without incident.
