A Youth Has Been Charged For Setting Yarmouth Area High School On Fire

Yarmouth Consolidated Memorial High School was evacuated due to two fires set in the school Tuesday afternoon. At least one was in a bathroom. The school was dismissed early after all staff and students were evacuated from the school. No one was injured. The school remains closed today.

Yarmouth Town RCMP charged a youth for two fires that were set in the school.

Through the course of their investigation, police determined that the youth had set two fires in the school. The youth was arrested without incident and was later released on conditions. The youth will be facing charges of Arson and Mischief over $5,000. They will appear in court at a later date.
