There have been a number of announcements for concerts lately, but this one is from a group that helped many through the pandemic!
The brand new Light House Arts Centre, together with partners the Ultimate Online Nova Scotia Kitchen Party Facebook group and Nova Scotia Buzz, have launched a four-show Ultimate LIVE Kitchen Party series this summer, featuring 20 winners from the ‘Outta Lockdown Showdown’ virtual video contest, and four of Nova Scotia’s favourite party bands.
The shows will take place at Light House Arts Centre (1800 Argyle Street in the former World Trade & Convention Centre) in Halifax.
Acknowledging and dealing with the mental hardships faced during lockdowns, proceeds from the LIVE Kitchen Party series will benefit the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia. A link to donate will be available on the livestream, and fundraising activities will also happen in person at the events.
“The Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia is thrilled to be the charity of choice for this wonderful celebration of music and community,” says Foundation President & CEO Starr Cunningham. “We know music has many proven therapeutic benefits, and now we can add raising critical funds to support the mental health of Nova Scotians to the list!“
