The number one question being asked about the celebrities in Nova Scotia besides where you might snag a selfie with one is, are they self-isolating upon arrival in our province?
There have been plenty of star sightings in Nova Scotia as of late, including Oscar winner Adrien Brody and Schitt’s Creek star Emily Hampshire.
Social media was set ablaze after Daniel Radcliffe was spotted in the province. His girlfriend Erin Darke is filming the series Feudal on Nova Scotia’s south shore.
The typical person arriving in Nova Scotia from outside of the Atlantic Canada bubble has to isolate for 14 days, but Hollywood celebrities are not your typical people. Not only do they isolate 14 days, some receive private COVID-19 swabs while in isolation for even extra protection.
“All cast and crew travelling into Nova Scotia from outside of the Atlantic Bubble are required to isolate for two weeks, per the COVID-19 Health & Safety Guidelines for the Screen Industry.” said Tara McClair, Operations and Communications Manager for Screen Nova Scotia.
PRAXES Medical Group, a Halifax based medical company which has doctors and nurses on staff, is giving celebrities private COVID-19 swabs while in isolation.
According to their website, PRAXES has been working with several films to help them start up their productions and keep their workers as safe as possible.
Rest assured, safety is a top priority for the film industry in the province and they’re taking the necessary steps to keep productions and the public safe.
