#1 Take a sleigh ride at Hatfield Farm
Have you ever wanted to take an enchanted sleigh ride through a snow covered wood? Hatfield Farm can make your wish come true.
Every Sunday until March 31st you can enjoy a sleigh ride through the trails on their farm located just outside of Halifax. Not enough snow for a sleigh ride? They'll take you for a wagon ride!

#2 Borrow snowshoes or cross country skis from a local rec. centre!
Many local libraries and recreation centres across the province will lend you snowshoes or cross country skis to get out and explore the parks and backwood trails in Nova Scotia.
Contact your local library or recreation department to see if they offer such service. Some that do are Yarmouth Recreation, Colchester Recreation, many Halifax Recreation Centres and The Cape Breton Regional Library.
#3 Ski & stay at Ski Ben Eoin & The Lakes Resort
Looking for a Nova Scotia ski hill that you can make into an overnight vacation? Ski Ben Eoin on beautiful Cape Breton is the only hill in the province where you can stay at the base overnight.

#4 Taste the sweetness at Sugarmoon Farm
Sugar Moon Farm is a family-owned 200-acre farm with a 2500-tap maple syrup operation and a 60-seat log restaurant where you can "Eat, Tour, Hike + Shop" year-round. They're located deep in the maple woods of Nova Scotia's North Shore.
They proudly take part in the spring-time tradition of creating maple syrup over a wood-fired evaporator, and invite visitors from all over the world for a maple syrup experience throughout the year. #5 Stroll Hemlock Ravine Park
Maybe more fun to visit with your significant other than a BFF, Hemlock Ravine Park in Halifax features a heart shaped pond, known as Julie's Pond. It was built by Prince Edward, Duke of Kent for his mistress.
The park is 200 acres and features 4km of trails great for walking and snowshoeing.
#6 Dine Around Halifax
Dine Around Halifax is a month long culinary event that happens February 1-29 celebrating the Halifax foodie scene. Special prix-fixe menus are available at participating restaurants for $10, $20, $30, $40, or $50. This year will feature lunch menus as well.
Reservations are not required. Although, they are highly recommended due to the popularity of this event.

#7 Go ice skating with your friend!
Did you know that Dartmouth is known as The City of Lakes? There are plenty of frozen ponds and lakes here and across the province for you to enjoy the crisp fresh air with your BFF.
Not close to a lake or looking for something out of the elements? Most communities in the province have hockey arenas and open skates available to the public!
