IKEA Canada Closes All Stores Indefinitely

You won’t be able to purchase IKEA’s products for the next while or eat their famous meatballs. In a message to their online followers, IKEA Canada has announced they will close all Canadian stores indefinitely as we deal with the Coronavirus pandemic.

This includes their Halifax location in Dartmouth Crossing.

Their message to customers reads:

As the situation with COVID-19 continues to evolve day-to-day, our top priority during these challenging times continues to be health and safety.

Our communities are working hard to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and to support these efforts, we will temporarily close all stores to customers until further notice to support social distancing efforts and based on recommendations from local health authorities.

For your convenience, IKEA will remain open online at IKEA.ca, offering home delivery services as well as store Click & Collect pick-up between 11 AM – 6 PM.

IKEA Canada will also extend all current commercial offers until April 30th, 2020.

We are committed to supporting our 7,300 co-workers in the best possible way during closure. We will continue to support co-workers through our comprehensive benefits package and paid leave policy.

IKEA is committed to supporting the communities in which it serves and will work with local partners to identify and provide the right support and relief to Canadians during this complex and fast-evolving situation.

We look forward to welcoming customers back to our store locations soon and we thank you for your understanding during these extraordinary circumstances.
