The Canadian Force’s Snowbirds will take to the skies in 2021 to celebrate their 50th anniversary. The famous air demonstration team has two planned stops in Nova Scotia during 2021.
The shows are the result of intensive preparation and training that lasts six months and consist of 50 maneuvers and formations.
The Town of Lunenburg is the first stop in our province. The small and historic seaside town will hear the roar of the Snowbirds August 25, 2021.

The Snowbirds likely won’t leave Nova Scotia right away as they move onto Debert, NS for August 29-30, 2021 for Airshow Atlantic.
“We are looking forward to celebrating our 50th season with Canadians in 2021. We are going to ensure that we follow recommended health measures in order to see our fans again in a safe environment this season.” said Lieutenant-Colonel Denis Bandet, Commanding Officer 431 Air Demonstration Squadron.
The year 2020 also brought tragedy to the air squadron when one of their Tutor jets crashed in Kamloops, BC after a bird strike, claiming the life of Public Affairs Officer Captain Jenn Casey.
Casey joined the Canadian Forces in 2014 and became a member of the Snowbirds in 2018. She was originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Due to COVID-19, the shows schedule is subject to change. The Snowbirds will work with the events to ensure COVID-19 measures are in place.
