Happy Thanksgiving everyone! If the stores you visit don’t already have their Christmas and holiday merchandise out for sale, they will soon. It’s the time of year where everyone begins to wonder, when will we see the first snowfall of the season?
Some areas of Canada have already received early and heavier than normal snowfall. Areas of Manitoba are blanketed by the white stuff and many are suffering from power outages after the early winter storms.

Historically in Nova Scotia, we expect temperatures to drop below zero in mid November. This year The Weather Network is expecting it to stay milder into November then the weather to become more typical. Northern areas of Nova Scotia and the Cape Breton Highlands can expect to see snow before the rest of the province. According to AccuWeather, the majority of Nova Scotians can expect to see flurries in mid to late November with our first snowfall in mid December.
These predictions are exactly that. They are put together from historical data and long range forecasts. The Farmers Almanac this year for Nova Scotia calls for rain or snow just prior to mid November with much colder temperatures to follow.
