Two Drivers Caught Going 232 km/hr On Highway 104 – Both Ticketed For Stunting

On July 19, an off-duty police officer reported two vehicles heading westbound at extremely high rate of speed on Highway 104 near Monastery.

RCMP working near Exit 31 caught the blue Chevrolet Camaro and white Mercedes C 63 going 232 km/hr. The speed limit on the highway is posted at 110 km/hr.

The drivers, each from Alberta were stopped and each ticketed for stunting. The fine for stunting is $2,422.50

Both drivers were issued immediate seven-day driving suspensions and both vehicles were seized and impounded.

The RCMP remind the public that speed is one of the major causes of serious injury and fatal collisions on our roads. Road Safety is a priority for the RCMP, and drivers are reminded to make it their priority as well.
