Three STFX Students, One Acadia Student Charged With Violating Self-Isolation During Long Weekend

Violating self-isolation was an expensive mistake for four Nova Scotia University students this past long weekend.

RCMP received complaints about three students in Antigonish and one in Wolfville. They were from outside the Atlantic Bubble and reportedly violating self-isolation orders after arriving in Nova Scotia.

Upon further investigation, RCMP determined that the students were in violation of the Health Protection Act. Each was issued a Summary Offence Ticket and fined $1,000.

The Nova Scotia RCMP is reminding people arriving in Nova Scotia from outside of the Atlantic Bubble they must follow all Public Health orders, including a self-isolation period of 14 days.
