The Province Is Reporting 15 New Cases Of COVID-19 Today (Friday December 4)

THRER WILL BE A LIVE COVID-19 BRIEFING TODAY AT 2PM.

Today, December 4, Nova Scotia is reporting 15 new cases of COVID-19. The province currently has 117 active cases of COVID-19.

Central Zone is home to 11 of the new cases including the case connected to Citadel High School in Halifax that was reported yesterday afternoon.

Three cases are in the Northern Zone and are contacts of previous cases. The other is in the Western Zone and is related to travel outside of Atlantic Canada.

A new case has been identified at Park West School, a primary to Grade 9 school in Central Zone.

The person was not in school today and is isolating. The school will remain closed to students until Thursday, December 10. A thorough cleaning will take place, and students will learn from home while the building is closed. As a precautionary measure, the offsite Park West pre-primary location will also be closed until December 10 as well.

Students and families of both the school and pre-primary will receive an update Wednesday, December 9.

Public Health will be in touch with any close contacts of this case and advise of next steps. Everyone who is a close contact will be notified, tested and asked to self-isolate for 14 days.
